Private Lessons, Agility & Reactive Rover Classes
I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be helping, working and learning alongside Amanda. In late 2012, my chocolate lab Yogi and I were introduced to Amanda via the Reactive Rover 1 class. During the six week class, my husband and I learned the tools we needed to help Yogi (and us) succeed in the real world. I was completely inspired and needed to volunteer to learn more!
Three years later, I am still eager to learn and help others feel confident that they too can successfully move forward in the real world with their "Reactive Rover" dogs.

My dog experience began in 2000 when I started volunteering for a local animal shelter, right after I moved here from Japan. Volunteering gave me the opportunity to handle many different dogs with many different personalities. Then I started to assist various dog training classes to increase my understanding of dog behavior. I especially like helping with the reactive and shy ones.
My two rescue dogs and I enjoy going swimming, hiking, or just hanging out with our doggy friends. We've also done many classes together, but I especially like doing agility with them.

Kim Colgrove with Bellatrix
I started volunteering with Amanda as an assistant trainer in October 2010. I had no idea how much fun it would be to work with people and their dogs!
While I have helped with many different types of training classes, my favorite classes are the Reactive Rover sessions. I love seeing the changes that dedicated handlers can make with their dogs. Using my own mellow dog, Bellatrix, as a neutral "helper" dog has made it all the more fun.
Along with my training experience, I've also lived with a Reactive Rover and I understand the emotional and physical toll a reactive dog can take. But I also understand the joy of making a breakthrough, no matter how big or small.

Agility, Control Unleashed & Reactive Rover Classes
I love being with animals and observing how they interact with the world. My first passion was horses. I worked with them for many years and in 2008 I started my own business as an Equine Bodyworker. I use a combination of modalities to improve horses’ health. I also did a lot of pet sitting to get my "dog fix" until 2013, when a precocious Border Collie pup convinced me to take him home. And now I can’t resist using my bodyworker skills on dogs too!
Gezi changed my life in many ways. His energy, his intelligence and his zeal to work together pushed me to learn as much as I could about dogs so I could be the best possible companion for him. When he matured into a "Reactive Rover," Amanda was our savior! Her method of working with dogs is inspiring. Through her classes and in assisting her, I see how she evaluates the subtleties of each dog and handler relationship, and then works to improve the communication and partnership for the pair. Helping other dogs and their owners create these amazing relationships is incredibly rewarding, and I continue to learn from Amanda in every session.

Agility, Tricks & CGC Classes
Ever since I could talk, I've wanted to work with dogs! As I got older, I got more interested in learning about dog behavior and using my knowledge to enhance training. I have trained my "Reactive Rover," my agility mutt and a service dog. I also enjoy practicing dock diving, disc, flyball and canine freestyle. My love of training is greater than ever because I am now able to work with all sorts of dogs and people. Thanks to Amanda for believing in me despite my younger age!
